No friction living

Physics has taught us that when two surfaces or objects rub against each other, friction is created due to resistance.  To reduce friction, a lubricant in the form of grease or oil may be smeared to cause the surfaces to slide in a smoother fashion.  Friction causes the deceleration of a moving object headed to its destination.  Eventually, there is some friction which causes halting and brings the object to a stationary condition.  An unpalatable side effect of this phenomenon is heat generation; one has to pay attention to not only reducing the friction but also addressing the heating effect!

If one has played the game of carrom board, some powder is sprinkled on the board to reduce the friction between the striker and the board, as well as the pawns, to facilitate smoother movement to render the game interesting.

In the bigger game of life, it helps to reduce friction in our transactions, particularly with people around us which includes our family and friends, colleagues and well-wishers.  This state thrusts us forward with the right momentum to achieve our goal in any walk of life.

In the path of self-realization too, the path is embroiled with unseen dynamics, unsolicited opinions which cause innumerable deviations, leading one astray.  These aberrations are stress inducers to have a detrimental effect on our health.

The Sadhana Marga is pristine when there are no expectations from any action.  As a result, this leads one on a path of acceptance of both positive and negative outcomes.  This is a simple – in the form of total surrender to Ishwara, we will receive his blessings any which way.  The qualification though is to drop our ego, the ago that makes us think  that ‘I am responsible for everything.’  In an egoless state, the sadhana marga is less arduous and drives the sadhaka to arrive at the destination with fewer bruises and more rewards.

Let us try “No Friction” living for a short period of time to marinate in its wondrous moments.  This sample will provide better clarity of the bigger picture!
